Inspiration Drink Teaching & Learning Lab online – Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL)

TLL inspiratiecafeThe Teaching & Learning Lab organizes an Inspiration Drink every second Thursday of the month. Alternately, a story by a teacher, a student or an interesting educational tool will be presented. But above all, there is an opportunity to exchange ideas about education with colleagues.

On Wednesday 19 May Tamar Aprahemian and Ferdi Engels will be our guest speakers and will tell us something about their COIL project. COIL stands for Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) and is known as an innovative instructional method that promotes intercultural learning through online collaboration between faculty and students in different countries.

COIL offers teachers the opportunity to work together with colleagues from their international network and give students a preview of what it is like to work in an international team. What is the added value of COIL to your course? Where do you start when starting a COIL project? What do you run into and how do you deal with cultural differences for example? You will get the answers to these and more questions on Wednesday, May 19 from 4 p.m. See you then!
